NZ-VR Blake program

Today we had some people come to our school, and they brought VR headsets and their actual film videos from New Zealand's oceans. It was really fun I had a great time and I learned lots. 

Book character dress up day

 

Today (Friday the 6th of August) we had a dress-up day where we have to dress up as book characters. In the photo, I'm in the middle and I was dressed up as Kristy from the babysitters club. The one with the pink hair is Caley and she is dressed up as Claudia from the babysitters club as well. The other person is Kate who is dressed up as Vicki Wilson from Showtym Adventures. (Oh and Maia didn't want to be in the photo, but I just labeled her anyways ;).)

My name is Rez

This term our class' reading focus is on refugees and this week we read a graphic novel about a refugee. We had to answer questions about it (mine are down below). The graphic novel was called My name is Rez. I learnt about some new countries I had never heard about before, and I learnt about refugees. 

Get into gaming NZ

This week is Get into gaming NZ https://getintogaming.nz/. Today in class we watched a live stream,  the live stream talked about roles in the gaming industry and how to get into it, in the video they went over tips and facts about the gaming industry, it also talked about esports and it was very interesting for me even though I don't really like gaming, I learnt quite a lot about esports and gaming in general. 

Author Visit

 Today Marton Chatterton came to our school to visit us. Marton Chatterton is an author who writes for adults and young adults. He was very funny and great at illustrating and writing. It was very nice to have him visit our school. 

S.T.E.M

We did our first session of S.T.E.M with our buddy class, room 8. We had to make a structure out of cardboard, newspaper, and tape. We had to be in groups, it was fun but quite difficult, but ours didn't turn out the best...
